Buy.com-a failure in customer service

So I returned my Archos 704 about a week and a half ago (because archos is a crappy company-another story) to buy.com. Wanting to get my refund quickly I sent it priority air. Well it got delivered as per fedex’s tracking system, but buy.com’s phillipino customer service didn’t understand that when the tracking system says Union City, Ca, that it is actually a hub for all fedex packages to go to and then get sent out from there. So when I contacted them to check the status they would repeat the same line, “I’m sorry sir but until your package gets to the Fremont, ca location we can not give you a refund.”

I would repeat what I said (since they must think that repeating something often enough means that it is true) stating that, “Union city is the hub for all packages, it got delivered to Fremont, I have a fax stating this from fedex, just transfer me to someone in America so that we can get this resolved.”
To which they would repeat, “I’m sorry sir, but we cannot transfer you to America, we can email them for you.”
What a complete genius this guy was, I was so dense to think calling would work when they could just email buy.com for me, sort of a proxy if you will. I told him he was a horrible customer service admin and told him he gets flying colors for his repetition skills and hung up before he could ask me if there was anything else he could help me with.

Not wanting to talk to anymore of his kind I quickly Google’d Buy.com company reviews and found the number to their corporate office where I was able to talk to an American who understood what was going on and immediately help me out. So in the interest of making that info a lot easier to find I am posting it here.

Here is Buy.com corporate office contact info:

Buy.Com, Inc.
85 Enterprise Suite 100
Aliso Viejo CA 92656
Phone: (949) 389-2000
Fax: (949) 389-2837

If they try and forward you to their overseas customer service just tell them not to and to give them an American to talk to.

Wow. It's Quiet Here...
